I see your future, Discover these Extraordinary Developer Predictions

Humans are terrible at predicting things. Yet, we continue to try. A few years ago Jim Cramer was quite popular. My college roommate is now an investment advisor. He mentioned how many people listened to him and wanted to try and invest like him. The problem is it didn’t work.
His stock picks were entertaining but not valuable. So with that warning, I give you my developer predictions. This advice is worth what you paid for it!
Tools
This will anger some but we have come a long way since vi, the UNIX text editor. I remember using NetBeans when it first was released. I thought it was a huge timesaver.
I see tools getting better and easier to use. Along with that, it will help us configure and problem-solve. We started with wizards a long time ago. Disparate tools will become easier to integrate.
Artificial Intelligence
I have spoken about ChatGPT before. Artificial intelligence will become more commonplace. Just searching on Google now offers to use it. As a coder, I look forward to extra code review from AI.
Similarly, we should see more automated testing too. There have been tools in this space for a while. Although they have been quite primitive. Coupling AI and other technologies should advance this too.
Technologies
I am currently developing Vue.js applications. Before this, I was primarily a Java developer. So you know my vantage point.
Every few years the developer paradigms shift. Early in my career, Visual Studio enabled event-driven development. Later with AJAX technologies, we were able to send data easier to the browser.
Working in Vue.js I see the Reactive development. The technologies do more for us. Although we can neglect all the things that happen behind the curtain. So we need to keep this in mind as we move forward with many new shifts.
Methods
I cut my teeth on traditional project management. Then I was a Scrum Master. I have also been exposed to SAFe. I see many new methodologies to help manage change.
Don’t envision a smooth transition. It will be a bumpy ride as we try out new techniques. Enjoy the ride and learn as you go. Where agile methodologies help, I see better approaches coming soon.
My crystal ball may be defective, but it might work. As you look to your future changes will come at us. Be ready for anything.
